Curriculum

The Curriculum Department at Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public School District is responsible for ensuring that teachers and administrators are aware of the subject area content focused on benchmarks, grade level content expectations, and outcomes for student learning. Professional development stresses instructional strategies that work with students according to their individual learning styles.

MelNAP's Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum (GVC) is a collaborative district-wide agreement anchored to student achievement providing equal and equitable opportunity and time to access essential content grounded in evidence-based research. It is data-driven, rigorous, relevant, and implemented with fidelity.

MelNAP administers the iReady Diagnostic (K-12) and has personalized learning paths for each student, as well as an online toolbox which includes multiple resources for our teachers and students. Kindergarten through 8th grade have been provided with either core or supplemental Ready Reading and Math textbooks.

The Curriculum Department is located in the Board of Education building at 18530 Prospect, Melvindale, Michigan. The Department of Curriculum supports training and professional development for its teachers to ensure that all of our staff have the very best tools possible to provide the best learning experience for the students of Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Public Schools.
