Melvindale-North Allen Park Public School substitute teachers are employees of and paid through EDUStaff. Please log in to www.edustaff.org and select "Start Application". Be sure to choose Michigan as your state at the time of your account creation.

Once the application and all of the GCN training modules have been completed, print your certificates, and sign up to attend an EDUStaff meeting at Wayne RESA.

All employees must complete a fingerprint background check before working with students. Within the application packet there are two forms regarding fingerprints that you can choose from. If you have been employed by a public school in Michigan within the last year, you may have your fingerprint results transferred to Melvindale-Northern Allen Park Schools by completing the Fingerprint Release form. If you have not been employed by a public school in Michigan within the last year, you will need to complete the Live Scan form and have a fingerprint background check done. At the time of the background check, you will be responsible for the one-time fingerprinting fee.

In addition to completing the EDUStaff application and GCN tutorials, you will need to submit your transcripts, verifying a minimum of 60 college credits, directly to EDUStaff before they apply for a substitute teaching permit. Once they have applied for the permit, you will receive an email from the Michigan Department of Education with a link to pay the permit fee.

Please note the list of acceptable documents for the Form I-9. EDUStaff will not process your application without the proper identification.
